This is beautifully written. We lost my father in law in October after a long battle with Parkinson’s. I was one of his caregivers. He passed away at home on hospice care at 1:00 AM. In December, my dad passed away suddenly. His stealth was in the hospital, and he was on a ventilator. Such stark contrast in each method of passing. They were both terrible in their own ways. My dad was deeply religious and loved gospel hymns. In his final weeks, he had written down the names of two hymns on a notebook: “Great Is thy Faithfulness,” and “It Is Well with my Soul,” the first of which stuck with me for weeks as my internal soundtrack. Music is powerful. Thank you for sharing your story. I’m sorry for your loss…
